The HAWA MAHAL which adjoins the famous city palace walls was built by MAHARAJA SAWAI PRATAP SINGH in the year 1799. It has now become one of the landmarks in Jaipur.This palace is shaped like pyramid and has large number of small windows. Hawa Mahal was built just so the ladies could watch the processions and the various activities taking place on the streets, without showing themselves.Hawa Mahal is the popular place among visitors of Rajasthan. Some insist that the best time to visit Hawa Mahal is the early morning, right when the sun is rising. The Hawa Mahal is a great example of the RAJPUTANA architecture, which was strongly influenced by the Mughal architecture.
