Corbett National Park


The Corbett national park, where tiger project was launched in 1973.Corbett National park is regarded as the India’s finest national park and its major attractions are tigers, Indian elephants and leopards. Once a popular haunting ground of British, this 201 square mile park was named in honor of late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who contributed in setting up this park. With the help of world wildlife fund, the Project Tiger was started in 1973 and this park is one of the first such tiger reserve in India. As with the rest of the country, there are three well-defined seasons in Jim Corbett Park; winter season from November to February, summer from March to June and rainy season for rest of the month. Places to see in Corbett are: dikhala, Corbett museum and Garjia temple. Corbett museum in Dhangari where you will see the belonging and life history of Mr. Jim Corbett still intact in the museum with some of the animals of the park.
